DanceSport Chapter #3048 |

Learning to walk
sets you free. Learning to dance gives you the greatest freedom of all: to
express your whole self, the person you are.

Welcome to the DanceSport Twin Tier USA Dance, Inc., Chapter 3048 Website!
Dancing
is a microcosm of life. It is art form, a social convention and athletic
endeavor all rolled into one. Dancing has been an important part of mankind's
life since time in memoriam. The are good reasons for this. Dancing elevates
the mind, body and spirit. It expresses emotion. It allows communion with one's
partner and also with the entire dance floor. It is an activity that naturally
promotes good physical, mental and emotional health.
USA Dance, Inc. was originally established in 1965 under the name of the United
States Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association (USABDA). The organization was
approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a Section 501( c)(3) nonprofit
organization in 1985 and has received classification as a charitable
organization (Section 509[a][2]) in 1990. One of the main purposes of USA
Dance, Inc. and its affiliated chapters is to promote ballroom dancing in the
local community and to educate the public regarding the physical, mental, and
social benefits of ballroom dancing. It is also involved preparing amateur
dancers for competition. To that end USA Dance, Inc., sponsors competitions and
supports amateur dancers in regional, national and international competitions.
The dancers and/or the events are sponsored by USA Dance, Inc., in many
televised competitions.
DanceSport TwinTier was formed to offer new opportunities and venues for dancers
in the Broome, Tioga and Chemung Counties of New York and the Bradford and
Susquehanna Counties of Pennsylvania and to expose non-dancers of all ages to
the joy of dancing. One goal is to make all of our events an enjoyable event
for all who attend from the accomplished dancer to the beginner and even the
non-dancer!
